Mosaic Church

Mosaic Church

Our journey so far

Mosaic Church was started in 2004 by Matt and Pip Hatch, who moved up to Leeds from Bedford. During their first year they gathered a group of around six people in their living room and began to dream of starting a church.

People always ask about the name Mosaic. It comes from a picture God gave to the church, of tiny broken pieces of stone, all of different shapes and sizes, which together make a beautiful mosaic – that is our church!

The church grew quickly, with many people coming to faith and new people joining, and in 2007 Mosaic Church moved into a refurbished warehouse close to the city centre.

In 2013 Mosaic become a multisite church made up of three gatherings in different parts of the city. Each of our gatherings shares the same vision, values, leadership and resources.

Mosaic Church has grown from a handful of people meeting in a living room to over 450 Adults and kids. The church has also started several new churches including The Oak Church in West Leeds and Christ City Church in Dublin.

Mosaic is part of the Catalyst Network within the Newfrontiers family of churches.
