Mosaic Church

3 Places To Belong

3 places to belong

Church is more than just a service on a Sunday. It’s about people doing life and mission together. If you want to be a part of Mosaic we encourage you to connect in three different ways.

  • Sunday Gatherings

We gather every Sunday to sing, learn from the Bible and spend time together. Please click here to find out more about locations and times.

  • Mission Groups

Our small groups could be described as the heartbeat of Mosaic Church. Each group draws together people who feel called to pioneer and reach out into the city. All groups have a particular missional focus that draws their members together.

    They are:

    • People — reaching a certain people group in the city
    • Passions — reaching people with common interests
    • Places — reaching out to a geographic area of the city

Usually groups meet once a week in the home of a church member. Most groups have a mixture of friendship, food, worship, Bible study and prayer, as well as a focus on mission in the city.

  • Accountability Groups

These are groups of two or three friends that meet together regularly to help one another grow as a Christian. The best way to join one of these groups is through your Mission Group.

I came to Leeds as a student from overseas and was looking for a church that I could get involved in, grow in, and that would challenge my relationship with Jesus. The first week that I went to Mosaic I was welcomed straight away and asked how I wanted to get involved, which was amazing! There are so many ways to grow and serve: serving teams, discipleship, leadership training and Mission Groups to name just a few.

My Mission Group is my closest group within church and through the last four years I have been encouraged to try out new things and grow in my personality, leadership skills, and relationship with Jesus: I now lead worship (sorry for the high notes, International Mission Group!) and bible studies in Mission Group. This group of people constantly support and encourage me, teach me new things about life and God and prevent me from becoming comfortable with the way things are in my life right now!

Through Mission Group God has made me bolder in living in a way that shows how awesome He is at work and in other aspects of my life and I have had the privilege of seeing a classmate commit her life to Jesus. As we are focussed on international people in Leeds, it has been amazing to have people from different countries come along, find out about Jesus and even be baptized!

My husband and I moved to Leeds and started coming to Mosaic in February 2012. On our first Sunday we were introduced to one of the leaders of a Young Professionals Mission Group who invited us along that week. That Mission Group made everything about moving to a new city easier. They were people who lived near us, worked in similar environments and had a real heart for the people of the city.

Through them we were introduced to lots of other people in the church and were soon able to get stuck into areas of church life that excited us. In our Mission Group we felt supported through the massive change of moving across the country. We were encouraged to step out in our giftings and be excited about what new things we would be facing. Most of all we found people who were fun, loved Jesus and really cared about each other and those around them.
