DAY 6: being grateful in every circumstance

1.BIBLE READING

1 Thessalonians 5:16–18

Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

2. LISTEN/WORSHIP

3. RE-READ THE SCRIPTURE

Read again - 1 Thessalonians 5:16–18

4. REFLECT & ACT

Paul doesn't say to give thanks for everything, but to give thanks in every circumstance. Gratitude doesn't deny difficulty; it declares that God remains good and faithful in the middle of it.  However gratitude remains a choice, it’s an act of defiance against the powers of the enemy and it’s the will of God for us.

ACTION

Think of one difficult circumstance you're facing.

Thank God for one thing you know remains true about him, even in the midst of the difficult circumstance.

5. PRAY - Concluding Prayer

Father God, help me to praise you in every circumstance.

When life is difficult, remind me that you are still good, still present and still faithful.  Amen
