SENT WeeK

22-29TH JUNE 2025

Why a ‘Sent week’?

The vision for our church this year can be summed up in two words: surrendered and sent.

To help us grow and embrace this year of being surrendered and sent, we’re launching a ‘Sent Week’ from 22nd–29th January where we’ll do a few tangible activities together to help us reflect on and live out our calling as people who are sent — intentionally stepping into God’s mission in the world.

Below are six key actions we’d like to invite you to take part in during this ‘Sent Week’.

SENT WEEK

  • For the sent week, we have written a series of daily devotionals for you to go through at the beginning of each day. It should take about 10-15 minutes but you’re welcome to take as long as you like and extend this time using the daily material.

The devotionals are available for download here.

We have also adapted the material for families and kids. You can download these here.

  • "Then he said to His disciples, "The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field." Matt 9:37-38

Being 'sent' starts in prayer, as we come before the Lord of the harvest and ask Him to send us out we are reminded that we go in His strength, following His lead and for His glory.

Throughout this ‘Sent Week’ we're going to have 6 opportunities across three days to gather on virtual prayer calls in the morning and evening on:

    Monday, 23rd June

    Wednesday, 25th June and

    Friday, 27th June

    from 6:30 - 7am and 7:30-8pm.

Each prayer call will start with a short reflection in the Scriptures before we seek God in prayer. The links to the online meetings will be on the FB community page and in the e-news sent out on Thursday, 19th June.

  • Fasting is a powerful way to declare that, while food may be our desire, God is our true sustainer. As Jesus says in Matthew 4:4, "Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God."

Join us for a corporate fast on Wednesday, 25th June, as we set aside time to spend time with God and to hear from him. Throughout the week, we encourage you to also fast one meal a day, using that time to pray and read Scripture. Choose the meal that suits you best, and consider fasting together with your Mission Group.

If you’re new to fasting, check out our prayer and fasting guide for more help.

  • Jesus said, "As the Father has sent me, I am sending you." John 20:21

We have been commissioned to carry God’s light into the world. There will be various opportunities for each Mosaic gathering to engage in outreach. These will be brilliant opportunities to step out in faith in sharing and demonstrating God’s love for people.

The details will be communicated via our Sunday church news, the news email on Thursday 19th June and our social media channels.

  • To end our Sent Week, we'll be joining together as a whole church on Sunday 29th June at 6pmat Leeds Beckett Students’ Union for a celebratory feast and you're invited! We'll have a meal of pulled pork in bread rolls with side salads. There will be a vegetarian and vegan option too.

Please let us know you’re coming via the ChurchSuite event page so we can cater accordingly.

We can’t wait to see you there!

  • We will finish the Sent Week with our monthly Encounter Night on Sunday evening, 29th June from 7.30-9pm at Leeds Beckett Students’ Union! This will be straight after ‘The Feast’ (see above). We will spend time praying and worshipping together, and hear stories of how God has been at work in and around us during our ‘Sent Week’. Please make every effort to be there.
