DAY 6: jesus is crucified
WE ARE AN ABIDING PEOPLE
Today’s bible reading is John 19, today we will use the description of Jesus’ sentencing, crucifixion and death to help us abide. As you read through the whole chapter, with each key thing that happened to Him, say in your heart, “you did this Jesus, so we could abide with you.”
WE ARE A SURRENDERED PEOPLE
What do you learn about God in this passage?
What does Jesus teach you about surrender?
Pray that the love Jesus has shown to you through this passage, and his model of surrender will affect how much you are willing to lay down your life for him.
WE ARE A SENT PEOPLE
John (the Author of this chapter and book) witnessed Jesus’ death, he says in verse 35: “The man who saw it has given testimony, and his testimony is true. He knows that he tells the truth, and he testifies so that you also may believe.” Here is that word testify again. He is giving us evidence that Jesus is the one who saves us.
Spend some time with God today asking Him how, to whom, and where, He would like you to give testimony to the goodness and saving power of Jesus, just like John did in this chapter. Then listen to Him and step out.
